Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between semester GPA and cumulative GPA?

Semester GPA reflects only the courses taken in one term. Cumulative GPA (CGPA) blends every term you've completed, weighted by each course's credits.

Do all courses count toward GPA?

Usually not. Pass/Fail, Withdraw, and Incomplete grades are commonly excluded from GPA by policy, even though they may still count toward credits earned. Only graded, GPA-eligible courses factor into the average.

What if my school doesn't use a 4.0 scale?

Change the grading system in your Academic Profile. InstantGPA supports 5.0 and 10-point scales, percentage-based systems, and custom scales, not just 4.0.
