Transparent formulas, explicit evidence labels, private-by-default calculations, and visible limitations.
Calculation integrity
GPA and CGPA use credit-weighted formulas with full internal precision. Non-GPA symbols such as U, IP, P, W, and I are classified before calculation and are never silently treated as zero.
Institution evidence
A grading rule is identified as official, reviewed, suggested, or custom. Students must confirm the exact scale and retake policy with their registrar because institutional rules can change.
Data handling
Core calculations run in the browser. Structured files and local OCR stay on the device. Secure cloud OCR is used only after a separate explicit consent checkbox; transcript data is stored under the signed-in account’s isolated browser namespace so another account on the same device cannot load it.
Academic limitation
InstantGPA provides planning guidance, not an official transcript, credential evaluation, degree clearance, or registrar decision.
